Exciting news, Disney fans! Starting July 24, 2024, Disney will transition from Genie+ to the new Lightning Lane passes, bringing back a familiar experience reminiscent of the original FastPass system. Here’s what we know:
The new Lightning Lane passes will allow you to book three rides in advance per day of your tickets for your stay. After you use your first return time in the park, you’ll have the chance to book a fourth ride, subject to availability. However, keep in mind that those highly sought-after tier 1 rides may be unavailable by then.
Staying on Disney property is now more beneficial than ever, as it allows you to book your Lightning Lanes 7 days in advance. Guests staying off-site only get a 3-day booking window. For our international friends, you’ll need to be on U.S. soil to book your Lightning Lanes. To make the most of this new system, we highly recommend using us, your trusted Disney travel planners.
